Ian Reinge
BSc (Hons)Sp Sci, BSc (Hons) MCSP, Adv Dip ST, Dip SM.
Ian began his career in 1987 upon completion of a three year Diploma in Physical Education. Following a short period as a P.E. teacher he became a freelance fitness instructor for local authority gyms, as well as coaching Trampolining, Gymnastics and Swimming.
In 1990 he trained in the then newly emerging field of Personal Training and established a Lifestyle and Fitness Consultancy business. In 1992 he trained as a Sports Masseur and in 1994 qualified as a Sports Therapist, with Premier Training. He quickly established a thriving clinic offering treatment for both everyday and Sports Injuries.
In 1998 Ian undertook an honours degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences, specialising in the fields of Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics, on completion he expanded the clinic’s services to work with elite athletes.
Ian’s interest in non sporting injuries and medical conditions also continued to develop and in 2004 he studied for a Physiotherapy degree at Cardiff University. It was during this period that Ian developed his special interest in working with older age groups.
Ian now works with a wide variety of clients from everyday injuries to recreational athletes. He has a special interest in falls, balance, mobility and physical activity in older age groups, as well as those with chronic and medical complications. Ian still maintains a small number of elite and G.B. athletes.
In younger days Ian was a national Trampolinist and also competed in Olympic weight lifting and Triathlon and was heavily involved with voluntary Mountain rescue.
Ian is co owner of The Reinge Clinic in Kenilworth and Bristol and was a speaker at the 2019 Therapy Expo at the NEC, delivering three lectures over the Conference period.
